Greg: Pocket Pet Privacy Policy

Greg is a private offline AI companion and optional app-time monitor developed and published by Innobytez. Greg does not require an account, sell personal data, show ads, use behavioural analytics, or send ordinary AI prompts to an Innobytez AI service.
Local Chat And Photos
The on-device model processes current requests, bounded conversation context, local memories, and up to four photos per request. Chats, selected photos, memories, settings, happiness, and streak history are stored locally. Text-only exports omit photo files and private photo paths and are shared only through a user-invoked system share sheet.
Optional App-time Monitoring
On iPhone and iPad, Greg uses Apple Family Controls and Device Activity after authorization. On Android, Greg uses Usage Access after permission is granted. Chosen apps or private tokens, limits, and available daily usage history stay local. With Apple's newer App and Website Usage data authorization, history can include selected-app minutes, pickups, notifications, first pickup, and longest session. On Android it can include selected-app minutes, app opens, and last-used times. Greg gives relevant local history to its on-device AI when you ask about app time.
On Mac, Greg locally accumulates foreground time for the apps you select while Greg is running and pauses while the Mac is locked or asleep. It does not read browser history, window contents, or input events. Websites count as their browser unless installed as separate apps. Greg does not block apps.
Model Download
After explicit approval, Greg downloads an approximately 2.6 GB model from a pinned Hugging Face location. Hugging Face and network providers can receive ordinary connection information such as IP address, request time, and technical request data under their own terms. On Apple platforms, Greg and My Little Chef can reuse one verified model copy in a shared app container.
Deliberate Response Reports
If you deliberately report one answer in Settings, Innobytez receives that selected answer, its preceding user message, report category, optional note, Greg and model identifiers, app version, random report identifier, and timestamps. Photos and other messages are excluded. An offline report waits locally and retries while Greg is open and online. The shared Innobytez report endpoint uses sender IP transiently in memory for abuse rate limiting but does not write it into the saved report.
Permissions And Network Access
Camera or photo access is used only when you choose to add a photo. Screen Time or Usage Access is used only when the optional feature is enabled. Network access is used for model setup, platform services, and deliberate reports—not ordinary AI inference.
Retention And Deletion
Local data remains until removed in the app, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled, subject to platform backups. The model can be deleted from Settings. Delivered reports are kept only as reasonably needed for investigation, security, and legal obligations. To ask about an identifiable report, email [email protected] with its approximate date, category, and a distinctive short phrase. Because Greg has no accounts, a report may be impossible to locate without those details.
